You have not used

enough pre-ground

coee.

Use one heaped measuring

spoon of pre-ground coee

per cup for stronger coee.

Water leaks from

the coee machine.

You overlled the

water reservoir.

Do not ll the water reservoir

beyond the MAX level.

The sieve in the center

of the pod holder may

be clogged.

Check the pod holder. If

the sieve is clogged, use a

washing-up brush to unclog

the sieve. If you cannot clean

it properly with the washing-

up brush, put the pod holder

in the machine and descale

the machine.

The sealing ring is

stuck under the edge

of the distribution disk

in the lid.

Check if the sealing ring is

stuck under the edge of

the distribution disk. If it is,

pull it out from under the

distribution disk carefully.

You forgot to place

the collector ring.

If you forget to place the

collector ring, water comes

out of the lid of the machine

instead of passing through

the pod.

I cannot open

the lid.

A vacuum has formed

under the lid.

Switch o the coee

machine. Pull up the lever

and wait 24 hours before you

open the lid. You may need

to use some force.

Always make sure the pod

holders are clean and the

center of the sieve is not

clogged to prevent a vacuum.

It takes longer than

before to brew

lter coee.

You have to descale

the machine.

Follow the instructions to

descale the machine.

You left a pod holder

in the machine.

Remove the pod holder.

There is still water

left in the water

reservoir after

brewing lter

coee.

This is normal. The lter coee brewing

process does not use up

all the water in the water

reservoir. This is normal.

I do not get a small

cup of stronger

coee after double

pressing the cup

button.

You have double

pressed the button

too fast or you have

waited longer than

3 seconds after

pressing the button

for the rst time.

You can get a stronger coee

if you double press the cup

button within

3 seconds. The light in the

button shines less bright

when the selection of

stronger coee is successful.

Flush before rst use

Flush the machine before rst use. After the ushing cycle (which only takes

approx. 2 minutes), the machine is ready for brewing coee.

Intensity select HD6597, HD6594

For small cups only: It is possible to brew an even shorter stronger coee by

double pressing the cup button.

Special coees

To brew a special coee, place a cappuccino pod, a hot chocolate pod or

another special coee pod in the mug pod holder and press the cup button.

2x descaling, 2x ushing

Descale the machine when the CALC light starts ashing. Use liquid Senseo

descaler only. The descaling procedure consists of two descaling cycles and

two ushing cycles. Each cycle lasts 5 minutes. For each descaling cycle, you

have to pour half a bottle of descaling liquid into the water reservoir and ll it

up with fresh water. Use the cup pod holder with a used pod or the thin

descaling lter during the rst descaling cycle and use the mug pod holder

with a used pod or the thick descaling lter during the second descaling

cycle. Do not interrupt the descaling cycles and do not switch o the

machine before you have performed the two ushing cycles. The CALC light

continues to ash until the descaling procedure is completed correctly.

- This symbol means that this product shall not be disposed of with

normal household waste (2012/19/EU) (Fig. 1).

electronic products. Correct disposal helps prevent negative

When you are brewing

drip lter coee, the

light ashes slowly

during brewing.

The brewing cycle is ongoing.

Wait until the light in the jug

button goes out before you

remove the jug.

The light in the

button I pressed

ashes quickly.

There is not enough

water in the water

reservoir.

Fill the water reservoir.

The oat in the water

reservoir is stuck.

Empty the water reservoir and

shake it a few times to release

the oat. Clean the water

reservoir with hot water and

some washing-up liquid or in

the dishwasher. If this does not

help, descale the machine.

The CALC light

ashes when the

machine is heating

up or brewing

coee.

You need to descale

the machine.

Follow the instructions

to perform the descaling

procedure.

I cannot close the

lid properly.

Perhaps a used coee

pod is sticking to the

water distribution disk.

If this is the case, remove the

used pod.

You have placed a

large coee pod in the

cup pod holder.

Only use standard pods in

the cup pod holder.

The coee

machine produces

less pod coee

than before.

Perhaps the sieve in

the center of the pod

holder is clogged.

If the sieve is clogged, use a

washing-up brush to unclog

the sieve. If you cannot

unclog it properly with the

washing-up brush, put the

pod holder in the machine

and descale the machine.

You may have double

pressed the cup

button.

If you double press the cup

button within 3 seconds, the

machine brews one cup of

short strong coee.

The temperature

of the coee

decreases quickly.

You use the wrong

type of cups.

Use thin-walled cups. Thin-

walled cups absorb less heat

from the coee than thick-

walled cups.

The cups are cold. Rinse the cups with hot

water. You can preheat the

coee machine and cup by

brewing a cup of hot water

rst without placing a coee

pod in the pod holder.

You have added cold

milk to the coee.

Do not use cold milk straight

from the refrigerator.

The lter coee is

not hot enough.

You have not brewed

a full jug.

Coee stays hot longer if you

brew a full jug of coee.

You have not

removed the pod

holder.

If you do not remove the

pod holder, this can lead to a

longer brewing time.

You have not

preheated the

insulated jug.

Rinse the insulated jug with

hot tap water to preheat it .

You have added cold

milk to the coee.

Do not use cold milk straight

from the refrigerator.

Coee grounds

end up in the

insulated jug.

Your paper lter

collapsed during

brewing.

To prevent the paper lter

from collapsing, fold the

sealed edges.

The coee is

weaker than

expected.

There was some water

in the insulated jug

when you started

brewing lter coee.

Always make sure that there

is no water in the jug when

you start brewing coee.
