2. USB BPM Software Instructions

Before using the instrument, please insert the attached USB BPM installation CD into your PC. The USB BPM

software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP or ME. Please read carefully the instructions

below to proceed with the USB BPM software installation. The latest USB BPM software version will be

released non-periodically on our website.

2.1 Installing the Blood Pressure Monitor Software

Execute the USB BPM Software CD to start the installation (as in the picture shown above)

Click on “Next” and the following picture will be shown on the screen.

Click on “Next” until the following picture appears on the screen.

When the software has been installed successfully, click on “Finish”.

The USB BPM icon is placed permanently on the bottom right corner of the toolbar after the installation.

3. Correct measurement procedure

Before you start using this instrument, please take a look at the suggestions below to avoid discrepancies in

your measurements.

• Always measure on your left arm or left wrist

• Avoid exercising, eating, drinking or smoking

• 5-minute intervals between measurements is recommended

3.1 Using the Arm Cuff Properly

Hold your hand open with the palm up and place the arm cuff around your upper arm.

Maintain a distance of about 2-3 cm above the elbow.

Place the arm cuff directly against the skin to avoid measurement errors.

Place the arm cuff over your upper arm and then fasten the arm cuff firmly with the Velcro tape.

3.2 Correct Posture

Sit comfortably and rest your arm on the table. Place the centre of the arm cuff at the same height as your

heart.

3.3 Measurement Procedure

It is recommended to close all other programmes while running the BPM programme. Connect the USB

BPM to your computer or laptop using the supplied USB transfer cable. The Link Indicator Light will light

up for as long as the programme is running. After the computer has detected the BPM program, it will start

automatically. The Link Indicator Light on the right top corner of the screen will light up while the BPM

connects and interacts with the computer. You can now start measuring your blood pressure. Press “Start”

to start the measuring process. The Link Indicator Light will flash until this process is completed. The

results will be displayed on screen in all kinds of figures, including the pressure waveforms.
